These are made of a lighter wood, and have all the natural striations and "rings" inherent in wood.
Smoother finish with a slightly flat bottom.
They are paintable.
The ones I've tested stand up on their own, but not exactly straight, so you may want a little egg holder if you plan on displaying your finished work in that manner.
These measure about 40x27mm (1-9/16" by 1-1/16") in size at their longest and widest points, so noticeably smaller than, say , a large chicken egg from the supermarket.
